Financial Assistance
Financial Assistance Schemes (Revised edition, September 2024)
In accordance with the Education Bureau's requirement for schools under the Direct Subsidy Scheme, the School allocates 10% of its total income from school fee as provision for the Financial Assistance and Scholarship Schemes. School fee of 2024-2025 is HK$35,830 per annum by 10 installments.
- School Fee Remission Scheme
This scheme aims to ensure that no eligible students would be turned away from our School because of their family financial conditions, including those from families receiving the Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) and students receiving financial assistance provided by the Student Financial Assistance Agency (SFAA). The assessment is based on principles of fairness, effectiveness, clarity and efficiency.
* The applicant must be either the parent or authorized guardian of the student. *
The Means Test
The School adopts the "Adjusted Family Income" (AFI) mechanism of the Student Financial Assistance Agency of the HKSAR Government as the means test to assess the eligibility of a family for student financial assistance and its assistance level. The School's Level of Assistance is more relaxed than the Government scheme. Assessment is not required for the applicants who are receiving the financial assistance from the CSSA and the SFAA with "Full Assistance" or "Half Assistance".
- Assessment of Eligibility
The AFI mechanism is based on the following formula:AFI = Gross annual income of the family
-----------------------------------------
Number of family members + (1)
- Gross annual income of the family includes the annual income of the applicant and his / her spouse; 30% of the annual income of any unmarried child / children residing with the family if applicable; and the contribution from relatives / friends if applicable.
- The members of a family normally refer to the applicant, his / her spouse, unmarried child / children residing with the family and the dependent parent(s) who are supported by the applicant and / or his / her spouse (Please refer to the Guidance Notes on Application for Assessment of Eligibility for definition of "Dependent Parent").
- For single-parent families, the 'plus 1 factor' in the divisor of the AFI formula will be increased to 'plus 2'.
Level of Assistance
The AFI eligibility benchmarks for various levels of assistance in the 2024-2025 school year are listed in the table below.
Please note that the AFI is not the average monthly income of a family.2024 - 2025 school year - AFI Groups between (HK$) Level of Assistance 0 - 60,500 100% 60,501 - 78,650 75% 78,651 - 96,800 50% 96,801 - 108,900 25% > 108,900 Ineligible
