To let children learn from real-life experience is our goal in education.

Field studies in park

It is not uncommon for residents in Chai Wan to have noticed there are young students observing and taking notes in community near the School under guidance of teachers. These little kids are students in General Studies class and they are experiencing different facilities and land use of the community. P3 students will also learn to analyse the community characteristics from their observation. In fact, the ‘Social Service Module’ of P1 – P3 can coordinate with General Studies while the community learning part helps students to understand different roles in a community and experience elderly service. These learning experience not only consolidate students’ knowledge but also strengthen their ability in investigation & research and build up their spirit of service.

In addition to learning about community, P1 students also bring home a learning environment. There are comments from P1 parents regarding the activity ‘Self-improving Challenges’ that students gradually learn to manage themselves and share house-work! For P2 students, they show their creativity and talent in the toy making activity. Teachers have received hand-made toy by students including puppet, toy ship, soccer gate, harmonica, parachute, mathematics game machine, robot, bus, mask, aeroplane etc. It brought both teachers and students a big joy and it surprised our teachers how creative our students are. We believe they can be really inspired in their trip to Hong Kong Science Museum in ‘Science Investigation Learning Module’.

Community Service

We concern about conservation. In addition to trips visiting different places, such as Hoi Ha Wan Marine Park & Lions Club Natural Education Centre, organized by ‘Green Pioneer’, ‘Environmental Studies Module’p is part of the core program for P1 students. Through visiting Conservatory and Walk-through Aviary in Hong Kong Park in this Module, students will learn about plants in desert & tropical rain forest and habitat of different birds. Students are all anticipating the trip to Ocean Park, where they understand more about growth of dolphins & sea-lions through demonstration and how to protect them by participating different games & activities.

Moreover, there is lots of different learning experiences cannot be exhausted. We hope students can develop ability in being discerning and creative through different interesting learning activities.
